Leonardo Dicaprio as an US Marshal in the 1954. He was investigating a disappearance of a mental patient named Rachel Solando. The journey to the isolated island- Shutter Island has proved to be a hassle since the beginning. Teddy Daniels suffered seasick, headache and migrain( processed later).
However, the investigation itself also proved to be as stormy as the island. Every veil he tried to unveil, a lot more veils presented itself. Mental institution was a psychological frightening place for the Daniels. While on his quest, his deepest motive gradually revealed.
He also tended to investigate the murder of his wife. His apartment was set fire by an arsonist by the name Andrew Laeddish. The more he approached the patients, the more he determind that the mental institution is hiding something ,darker than the island itself. Possibly doing experiment on patient.
Lobomining frontal lobe, control brain, psychoneurotic and all sort of psychological ailments related to brain were found in this psychological thriller.
Personally I prefer this sort of psychological thriller where it leads you into thinking who is real, who to trust. Martin Scorcese proves his skill as this story based on Daniel Lehane is once again a heart thudding journey.
What is the truth?
Can we see the truth by eyes?
When our senses lie to us, what else should we depend?
when people told you the different version, should you trust it?
Whose mind is better? Can the mind outsmart the mental expert?
This is a dark, suspenful, detective story. I find it a worthy movie to watch. Hope you enjoy your ride.Labels: Movir review The shutter Island
