I know its sound tempting and you might already have “ah huh” written all over your face. Is this about biology? Yes, it is. Sounds under age? No. This is about nature reproduction.
I call it the love dance and it is happening in the most unlikely species.
They look ferocious and are a natural killer machine. They have evolved into a living specimen of the dinosaurs. In fact, they remain little changed since their ancestor days.
Crocodiles’ mating season is both romantic and highly aggressive. The male crocodile will hum a low tone that only perceived by female crocodile. The enchanting music travels through water and reach hundred of mile away.
During that mating season, the crocodile ponds will fill with unbearable smell but it is crocodile’s perfume. Male crocodile is constantly vibrating their body to send the infrasonic which penetrates through the water.
Male crocodiles are congregating and show off their muscular physique. Once the female and male crocodiles locked their eyes into each other, the dance proceed into second half. The love dance is actually gentle.
Male crocodile will gently rub her snout (which is the most sensitive part), blowing bubbles underneath her, releasing crocodile perfume, caressing each other’s jaws and rumbling softly. When she is ready to mate, she will lift her head and both of them will continue the mating under water. This ritual is rarely seen on land.
